Week in Review (short week)- Jan. 1 through Jan. 5, 2014

A light half week of action scheduled got even lighter as the late week snow storm moved around quite a few contests. But are some highlights of the week:

Boys Hockey earns big Hock win- Saturday night saw the Boys Hockey team rebound from a tough New Years Day 3-2 loss to Medway with a big 3-1 league victory over North Attleboro. Two Ben Lodge goals and a Kevin O'Brien goal paced the Bulldogs past the Red Rocketeers for their first victory of the season.

Wrestlers sweep Saturday Tri-Meet- Saturday morning saw frigid temps outside, but things were heating up in the Masciarelli Gymnasium as the Wrestling team hosted Xaverian and Northbridge in a tri-meet. The 'dogs started things off with a convincing 49-15 win over Northbridge and followed it up with a huge 45-33 win over Xaverian- a victory that wasn't secured until Wavol Prentice's pin in the final match. Double winners on the day were Derek Haas, Quinn Merrigan, Rob DiCalogero and Chris Sullivan.

Boys Basketball winning streak halted- The Boys Basketball team's 4-game winning streak came to an end on the road Sunday as the squad fell behind host Attleboro early and never really recovered, falling 59-43.

Swimmers perform well against Mansfield- Despite falling to Mansfield in both boys and girls swimming (boys- 73.5-93.5....girls 74-93), the teams performed very well, really challenging the Kelley-Rex power in every event. Some top Bulldog female performers included- Kelsey Irons, Kaitlin McCarthy, Ermilee Mercuri, Kim Frazier, Tiffany Ha, Julia Guerini, Julia Remy, and Piper Conway. On the Boys side- Diego Ferstier, Tim Conway, Kevin Wing, Brian McCarthy and Mike Noone paced the great performance.
