Highlights of the week- April 27-May 2, 2015

Baseball enjoys most successful 1st half of season in years-  A perfect 3-win week propelled the Baseball squad to a record of 6-3 as they approach the mid-point of the season. The week started off with a dramatic 6-5 win on the road over Sharon which featured a 3-run 7th inning including a Joe Peccia triple. The next two wins were convincing shutouts of Attleboro (4-0) and Franklin (4-0). Griffin Jerrier and Sean Doyle were phenomenal from the mound in each of the games. Kevin Powers and Peccia each have 6-game hit streaks alive as the squad heads into a week which will tell a great deal about what this team can accomplish this season.

Girls Track downs Stoughton as Boys fall to Knights- It was a great day for a track meet on Tuesday at CHS as the Bulldogs hosted the Black Knights of Stoughton. The Girls team improved to 2-0 out-dueling the Knights, 72-64. Sam Koplik won two events, 400 hurdles in 72.1 and 100 hurdles in 17.3. Cat Song also won two events winning the 800 in 2:39 and the mile in 5:48. Selena Cho won three events- 100 in 12.9, 200 in 72.2 and triple jump in 32'11". Thursday saw the girls suffer their first loss of the season at the hands of a tough OA side.

Boys Tennis downs Attleboro- The phenomenal play this season of Nathan Maltz and Dan Biggers was rewarded last week when several other Bulldog Boys Tennis players earned big wins, propelling the Bulldogs to their first victory of the season- over Attleboro. The doubles teams of Cooper Huber and Max Platt won in 3 sets while the freshmen doubles team of Justin Diep and Jake Wolicki swept their opponents sealing the 4-1 victory.

Boys LAX downs OA- In the lightest week of the Boys Lacrosse schedule, the team convincingly defeated visiting Oliver Ames Wedneday, 12-3 in its only game of the week.  Eight different Bulldogs found the back of the next in the Davenport victory. The win- the third-in-a-row- pushed the team's record to an impressive 6-3.

Girls Tennis downs Attleboro- The Girls Tennis team earned their 2nd win of the season over Attleboro last week, 4-1. Wins by Carly Scanlon and Skyler Jabbour at singles paced the squad while the doubles teams of Asia Smith/Sarah MacQuarrie and Tiffany Ha/Christina Guccione iced the victory for the Bulldogs.

Girls Lacrosse coming up just short- Two solid efforts for the Girls LAX team last week resulted in heart-breaking losses to Apponequet (8-10) and Oliver Ames (9-10). Leading goal-scorers for the week were Mary McNeil (7 g), Mary Nee (4g, 2a), and Christine Ward (3g, 3a).
