The Week in Review- 10/21/13-10/26/13

Cheerleaders grab first place- The Cheerleading team didn't waste any time showing their best stuff this season as they took home first place in the first competition they have entered this year. The competition was a big one- the Braintree Invitational- and the squad performed incredibly well, outperforming some great competition.

Field Hockey earns League Title….Again- A league win and a tie was enough to propel the Field Hockey team to yet another Hock Davenport Championship this week. The week started off with a disapointing 1-1 tie at Foxboro which then forced the team to have to defeat Stoughton at home on Thursday night in order to clinch the title. But the girls did not disappoint, edging the Black Knights on two Kellie Stigas goals, 2-1. Friday saw the team tie Westwood, 3-3 in an offense-filled non-league contest to end the season. Stigas registered 2 goals and 1 assist in the competitive game.

Boys Soccer Qualifies for Tournament- A convincing 3-1 win over Foxboro on Tuesday night at home earned the Boys Soccer team a ticket to the State Tournament for the 8th consecutive season. The team followed up the Foxboro victory with a 2-0 road win over Stoughton to end the regular season on Friday afternoon. Bart O'Brien (1 goal, 3 assists), Damian Kozak (1 goal, 1 assist), Eric Wong (1 goal), 1 assist),  Andre Dorofeev (1 goal), and Liam Collins (1 goal) led the Bulldog attack this week. The team finishes the regular season with a record of 9-6-3 and was unbeaten at home.

Volleyball improves to 15-2- The Volleyball kept things going this week with 3-0 wins over Sharon and Stoughton. The team will look to finish off the regular season on a five game winning streak as they face Quincy and Foxboro this week.

XC Girls finish 2nd in Davenport at XC championship meet- The Girls XC team raced very well in Saturday's Hock Championship meet, finishing 2nd in the Davenport and 6th overall with a score of 202. Catherine Song finished first for the girls while Courtland Priest finished 1st for the Bulldogs in the Boys race.

Riemer qualifies for States- Senior Sam Riemer shot an incredible 74 at Easton CC in Monday's Sectional Golf Tournament qualifying for the State Tournament Monday for the 3rd year in a row.

Football strong early but falters- The Football team battled hard against unbeaten Oliver Ames Saturday but fell to the Tigers in the final Hock Davenport game of the season. The big Bulldog highlight of the game was a 70 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Derrick Harris. The team will find out the remainder of its schedule on Monday.

Girls Soccer falls in only game of week- It was a light week for the Girls Soccer team as a rescheduled contest with Stoughton left just one game on the schedule and the team came out flat on the road against the Warriors, falling 1-0. The team will face the Black Knights on Monday at home at 5:45 in senior night.
