Brian Pendergast- Class of 2000 |
Devin Foster- class of 2019 |
But there will be much more than revenge on the minds of Bulldog fans as team captain Devin Foster will be taking the floor needing to score just three points to become the new all-time leading scorer in the program's history. Foster currently sits at 1,177 career points, just two behind the 1,179 mark set by Brian Pendergast in 2000. Pendergast's record has stood for nearly 20 seasons- an incredible accomplishment. CHS will be honoring Pendergast and his 1,179 points in a brief pre-game ceremony Friday night. It is always exciting to honor a new record-breaker, but it is also important to honor the record-holder. We will do that Friday.
Pendergast played four years for the Boys Varsity squad (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000)- his first two under coach Glen Grafton and his second two under coach Dave Aldrich. He led his team to the MIAA State Tournament in both his junior and senior seasons. Also very notable is that Pendergast wasn't alone in the 1000 point club from the class of 2000. Classmate Adam Jablonski also scored 1,000 points during his time as a Bulldog. As a matter of fact, Jablonski finished his career with 1,162 points, just 17 behind Pendergast. Foster past Jablonski's mark Wednesday night at North Attleboro, moving Jablonski to #3 on the all-time scorer's list.
The Bulldogs currently sit at 11-8 with 3 games remaining as they tune up for the D2 State Tournament which begins after vacation week.
In celebration of the big night, the CHS Athletic Department invites all of Foster's classmates (members of the class of 2019) to attend the game for a special $1 ticket. Let's pack the gym to support Devin Foster!
