Foster wraps up career as All-Time leading scorer

An amazing chapter in CHS Athletics came to a close last night in Randolph as the Boys Basketball team fell to the top-seeded Randolph Raiders, 64-58.  It was a great TEAM effort as has been the entire season, but we must recognize the individual brilliance that has been the career of Devin Foster. The Hockomock league MVP scored a game high 25 points in the defeat, to wrap up his career scoring tally at 1,306 points- a CHS Boys Basketball record.

appropriately captures the eyes of the youth of
Canton focused on this great role model.
Foster has been a 4-year starter for the Bulldogs, a 2-year captain, a 2-time Hockomock Davenport Champion and and an amazing representative of the program everywhere he goes. He joined the 1,000 point club on January 22nd at Taunton High School.  He then broke the program scoring record on February 15th when he passed Brian Pendergast's mark that had stood for nearly two decades (1,179 points.) Since then, Foster has averaged 26 points/game on his way to shattering the former all-time mark.

How he got there:
Freshmen Season-149 points
Sophomore Season- 283 points
Junior Season- 359 points
Senior Season-515 points
TOTAL- 1,306 points

This is what his head coach, Ryan Gordy had to say about him after playing in his final game-

"Devin helped change the culture of Canton Basketball. The turnaround of our program had from his freshmen year to his senior year was unprecedented. His humble approach, character, and work ethic forced everyone else in our program to fall in line with those values. There is no replacing or replicating what Devin Foster has done or what he's meant to this program. He proved that staying home, playing for your town, and with your childhood buddies is what high school sports is all about."

Foster is undecided about his future college plans but knows that Basketball will certainly play a big part in that next chapter of his life as well.  Bulldogs everywhere are so very proud and in awe of this young man.
