Truncated Highlights from last week- Jan. 19-25, 2015

Not all teams checking in this week but some did have some good news to share:

Girls Basketball program showing signs of success- Girls freshmen have won 3 straight games, and JV has won 4 of their last 5.  Varsity continues to show improvement losing on a last second shot to Norton and challenging league leading Foxboro into the second half.  Gabby Kenefick continues her solid offensive performance this season (top 10 scorer in the Hock) and new comer, freshmen Hannah Jerrier has joined varsity with a bang, scoring her career highs of 7 points and 10 points in back to back games.  Emma Murphy and Meaghan Hunter have been very consistent throughout the last few games and Shannon Foley and Eileen Khoury have really lead the defensive side of the ball.

Girls Hockey extends unbeaten streak- The Girls Hockey team continued to show grit this week as a 1-1 tie with Medfield (a team with a 10-1 record) extended the team's unbeaten streak to five games. The Bulldog's lone goal was scored by Jackie Martin.  The team is certainly hitting it's stride at the right time of the season.

Boys Hockey with big win over L-S- The Boys Hockey annual match-up with Lincoln-Sudbury is usually a good barometer for measuring the potential of that year's Bulldog squad. So, a 6-2 Bulldog road win on Wednesday over L-S certainly raises the bar on where this year's squad can go. A great performance was put in by CHS net minder Justin Slocum turning away many L-S shots, but the story was the explosive scoring. Seamus Pecararo, Jim Jenkins, Brian Hagan, John Femia (2), Cian O'Mahoney (first career goal) each found the back of the L-S net in the huge win.
