AD's New Year's Resolution- Keep up with the Weekly Highlights Blog!

So it's been a busy and eventful December for all of our winter Bulldogs and this blog has not done a good job at documenting those many feats thus far. Let's get caught up with the action!

Girls Hockey starts season with 4 wins and only 1 loss- The Girls Hockey team is making some noise in Girls Hockey circles in Southeastern Mass as they have earned 4 big wins against only 1 loss (that to a top-notch Duxbury squad.)  Goaltending has been a strong point thus far with Lindsey Nolte and Colleen Kelleher sharing the net minding duties.  Offense has been led by Mary McNeil and Jackie Martin along with contributions from many underclassmen.

Girls Basketball earns big road win- A young and inexperienced Girls Basketball team has struggled early this season to generate much scoring but that certainly came to an end on Monday night at Blackstone-Millville Regional where the Bulldog offense exploded in a 68-26 win. Gabby Kenefeck led the scoring with 14 points. The win is the first under head coach Jimmy Choquette. Congrats coach and girls!

Boys Basketball wins BMR Holiday Tourney- After a rough start in the Hockomock League, going 0-3 to start the season, the Boys Basketball team bounced back, winning the Blackstone-Millville Regional High School Holiday tournament defeating Avon (79-43) in the Semi-Final and Burrilleville (66-35) in the Championship game. Griffin Jerrier was honored as the Tournament MVP while Rishi Jambunathan was named to the all-tournament team. Jambunathan buried an amazing 6 threes in the tourney final!  The team heads back into League action on Friday vs. Milford at home at 6:30.

Wrestlers off to a good start- The Bulldog grapplers are off to a 3-3 start in dual meet action but it's their individual performances that have created the early season highlights. This past week, the squad sent several members to compete at the Lowell Tournament- one of the best tournaments in the state. Rob Decalogero took his undefeated record into the tournament and finished in 6th place, falling in the quarterfinals. Wavol Prentice, Brendan Lewis and Reda Chakir all performed well too. The team will travel to Foxboro midweek before hosting their annual Peckham tournament on Saturday.

Boys Hockey sitting even after 4 games-  The Boys Hockey team earned two wins and surrendered two losses in a brutal first four games of the season which featured four of the toughest opponents on the schedule.  Wins against defending State Champion Beverly (7-3) and Quincy (3-1) featured some great play. Sophomore Shaun Kirby factored in on all 7 goals in the Beverly game earning a hat-trick and 4 assists, while line mates John Femia and Matt Lazaro each netted 2 goals of their own.

Swim teams start seasons off with some great performances and a huge win-  The Boys Swim team were the first PoolDogs to earn a win this season with an impressive 92-74 victory over Franklin. A loss to Taunton (99-64) could not dampen the spirits of this team. The Franklin match featured incredible performances by many swimmers but leading the way were- the 200 IM relay team of Diego Ferstler, Sean Mitchell, Sebastian Melendez and Dan Nadeau, qualified for the sectionals and states.  Melendez also qualified for both the sectionals and states in the 200 Free.
