Early Season Review- Lax teams stand alone

We are now four weeks out since our first day of spring practice and the only two teams to see actual action are the Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams.  With melting snow (or lack there of melting) delaying the start to the Track, Tennis, Baseball and Softball schedules, the spotlight has been shining directly on our Lax teams.

The Boys Team has been incredibly impressive in the early going, earning 3-straight wins after falling to D1 powerhouse Franklin on the road in the season opener.  Convincing wins over Quincy (11-6) and Milford (12-5) sandwiched a huge, 7-6 win on the road over Mansfield.  Sophomore Joey Mulkay scored the game-winner with less than a minute to play to give the 'dogs the huge road win.  Some other notable individual performances early on were put in by Paul Swart (2 goals and 2 assists) against Mansfield and Aidan Carr scoring his first goal of the season in the win at Milford.

The Girls Team has improved each game this season. They were competitive against one of the best teams in the state in the home opener, falling to Franklin (4-14) but showed great fight.  They then went on to lose a heart-breaker to visiting NA, (10-9) in a game that truly could have gone either way.  The improvement continued into the third game of the season as the team earned its first victory of the young season, 11-9 over always competitive Mansfield.
