Boys Hockey streak comes to an end
The CHS Boys Hockey team fell to fellow-powerhouse Lincoln-Sudbury Wednesday night, 6-4 in front of a packed Canton Ice House. It was the team's first defeat in 44 games, bringing to an end a 43-game unbeaten streak dating back to the D2 South Semi-Final in 2018 when the 'Dogs fell to Plymouth South.
Losing is a part of sports- a very important part. Without it, we would never really understand what it means to win. And it seems odd to celebrate a loss, but that is precisely what Bulldog Nation should be doing right now. This loss marks the official setting of a 43-game unbeaten run that will go down in the Bulldog record books.
Congratulations to coach Shuman and the boys. Time to get back to work at practice tomorrow and prepare for the next great chapter you can write in the CHS Hockey history books. We all look forward to it.

Coach Aldrich notches his 100th Bulldog win
Coach Dennis Aldrich accepting his Coach of the Year Award in 2019 |
The team's record during Aldrich's tenure is an impressive 100-51-23 (64.1% winning percentage). The Bulldogs won the competitive SE
MGHL Championship in 2013 and were crowned Hockomock Champions in 2018. Perhaps the program's greatest accomplishment during the Aldrich era was back-to-back trips to the D2 State Finals at the Boston Garden in 2017 and 2018.
Aldrich previously served as an assistant coach at both Stoughton High School and Canton High School for the Boys Hockey programs. He is a 1979 CHS grad and two-time CHS Boys Hockey team captain.
Congratulations to Coach Aldrich as he joins the 100-win club! He gives as much to our Bulldog Athletics program as anyone.
Be sure to follow the Girls Hockey team as they finish up their successful regular season and head into the D2 State Tournament.
Girls Lacrosse Meeting

Connolly signs NLI to play at Brown University
With a gym-filled with family, teammates, coaches, friends and administration, CHS student athlete Jack Connolly signed his National Letter of Intent today to play Football at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Connolly has been a model student athlete here at CHS for the past 3 1/2 years. He has excelled in the classroom and community while also doing so on the ice and the playing field. He has worked hard on behalf of others in our community during his time here. Some of his community service includes- Kids Camp, Learn to Skate, Youth Football coaching and Team Tara in support of cancer research. He is a role model for all young Bulldogs.
He played a huge part in the resurgence of the football program over the past 4 seasons which culminated in two Hockomock League Davenport Championships during this junior and senior seasons. He is in the midst of riding a 42 game unbeaten streak as part of the defending State Championship Boys Hockey team- a team that has won 4-straight Hockomock Davenport Titles during Jack's tenure as a key defenseman. He was also the starting goalie for our Boys Lacrosse team during his freshman and sophomore seasons before limiting his commitments to just two varsity sports as he set his sights on the Ivy League gridiron.
Jack's Head Varsity Football Coach, Dave Bohane, had this to say about Jack on this special day- "Jack was an absolute pleasure to coach. He understood the recruiting process and with the support of his family, he attacked it. He is a tremendous role model for younger aspiring athletes. He balances athletics, academics and commitment to community like no other. Brown is getting an outstanding young man."
Jack had this to say as he reflected on the momentous occasion-
"I want to thank my parents, teachers, coaches, and teammates for all supporting me along the way. I want to give special thanks to Mr. Folan, Mr. Erickson, Mr. Carty and especially Coach Bohane for all of their hard work and guidance along this long journey from CHS to Brown. I look forward to playing for Coach Perry and Coach McCarthy and spending time and building bonds with my new Bear teammates."
Jack is the oldest of three boys in the Connolly household (Sean- 10th grade at CHS and Liam- 6th grade at GMS). His proud parents are Scott and Christine. Scott is also the assistant coach of the CHS Boys Hockey team.
The entire Bulldog community is proud of Jack and wish him well as he takes his talents down route 95 to Brown University. We will be there supporting you all the way Jack!
