Dear Bulldog Athletic Community,
I want to thank the entire CHS athletic community for the collective patience shown during the start of our spring season. Mother Nature has certainly dealt all of Eastern Massachusetts a tough hand when it comes to starting this spring season. To say that the student athlete experience thus far has been choppy at best would be an understatement.
I also want to thank members of the CPS Maintenance Dept., DPW and Recreation Dept. for their tireless work in trying to get our facilities ready as soon as we possibly can. They have gone above and beyond to help speed up the timeline of our teams competing on our fields, courts, and tracks. As you may know, the track and turf field have been cleared since March 16th. Our tennis courts are posing more challenging issues but we hope to be on the courts next week. Our baseball and softball fields have had much snow removed from infields but the outfields are still slowly melting. There is not much we are able to do on that front but the Rec. Dept. has spread dark colored fertilizer on areas to encourage melting.
The schedules for our facilities and our contests will continue to shift and change as conditions change. We thank all of you for your continued understanding and patience. A month from now we will be in shorts watching baseball, softball, track, tennis and lacrosse and this snow will be a distant memory!
