Hockomock League Announces Fall All-Stars

The Hockomock League Recently announced All-Star teams for the Fall 2019 season. Many Bulldogs were honored.

Note that we had THREE League MVP's this fall!

Basketball games rescheduled

The Boys and Girls Varsity, JV and Freshmen Basketball games that were postponed with Foxboro on Tuesday, December 17th have been rescheduled as listed below:

Varsity Boys Game- Friday, December 27th at Foxboro at noon

All five other games will be played on Thursday, January 2nd at the following times and locations:

Girls games in Canton....9th grade at 3:45, JV at 5:00, Varsity at 6:30pm

JV Boys in Foxboro at 5:00pm and 9th grade Boys in Foxboro at 3:45pm

NO ATHLETICS TODAY

Due to the freezing rain causing dangerous road conditions, all CHS Athletic events today have been postponed/canceled. This includes all practices, games, contests and other team activities.

Student athletes should check in with their coaches on any updates.

No strength and conditioning today as well.

Weather-Related Changes to Athletic Schedule- 12/2/19

Due to expected dangerous driving conditions tonight all athletic activities must be completed by 6:00pm.  This impacts some scheduled tryouts/practices including the following:

Boys Basketball-
Freshmen tryouts today are CANCELED.
10th-12th graders should report to Coach Hughes' classroom at 2:25 for a tryout that will conclude by 4:30pm.

Girls Basketball-
All girls trying out for basketball- tryouts in gym from 4:30-6:00pm

Wrestling- Practice will wrap up tonight at 6:00pm.

No other changes.

94th Annual Thanksgiving Day Football game set for Thursday

The Bulldogs of Canton High will host the Black Knights of Stoughton on Thursday, November 28th at 10:00am at CHS's WWII Veterans' Memorial Field. This game will mark the 94th season when the two rivals will face off on the gridiron on Thanksgiving morning.  Both teams have had tremendous seasons and the game should be a memorable one.

Tickets are currently on sale at the CHS Athletic Office and will be available at the Gate the morning of the game. You can avoid the long lines by purchasing tickets early or arriving to the game early (gate opens at 9:00 and lines will probably be long between 9:40-10:30.) 

TICKET PRICES:

Adults- $10

Students- $5

Senior Citizens- $5

Children under 8- Free

No passes accepted for this game. No Booster Memberships accepted. 

The access road on campus will be shut down from the top of the hill by the American Legion Hall to the mouth of the lower parking lot from 9:30 AM until the event has ended. Anyone parking on upper campus will only be able to use the main entrance/exit, while anyone parking in lower lot will only be able to enter/exit via Reynolds Street.

Many Special Events associated with this year's game:

• We will be honoring the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Super Bowl Championship Bulldog team at the game. Our honorary captains of the game will be the 1979 captains Dan Botsch and Steve Olsen. At halftime, we will honor the team with a brief ceremony. 
• We will also be honoring the 2019 State Championship Bulldog Volleyball team.  They will be introduced to the community at halftime.  It should be a great event!
• At roughly 9:30am, we will be honoring the Senior Bulldog Cheerleaders and their parents with a senior recognition ceremony. Please consider coming down early to witness this great group of athletes being honored. 
• A brief halftime event featuring students from both Canton and Stoughton who have spearheaded a drive for the local food pantry.  Please consider bringing a donation to the game.

Baseball meeting

There will be a brief but important meeting for anyone interested in playing baseball this spring on Tuesday, November 26th at 2:30 in the CHS Library.
