Bulldog family, friends, coaches and administrators gathered together in CHS's Masciarelli gymnasium on Monday afternoon, November 23rd to celebrate the signings and commitments that six Bulldogs are making to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

This group of student athletes have stood out in their time donning the green and white. They have each contributed greatly to the many successes of their teams. They have shown their classmates and our underclassmen what it means to be a Bulldog.
Oisin Brogan, Jake Marcel
Coach Tom Galvin

Canton High School is so proud of this group of role models who have all excelled on the playing fields and in the classroom. We wish them all the best of luck at the next level. We will all be rooting for you!

We expect more members of the class of 2026 to be joining this group as the school years progresses. We will honor those student athletes in future months.

"I want to thank my coaches, especially Coach Anna Amico; who saw potential in me all the way back in my freshman volleyball season and told me I should try track because of how fast I was during warm-up laps. She has been my greatest mentor and one of the best people I’ve met throughout my athletic career. I’ll never forget when she told me, “Enjoy the journey, Chloe,” because I can get impatient when things don’t go exactly the way I hope. She was always right there with me, pushing me to become the best version of myself and reminding me that the sky is the limit. I will always be grateful for her. Fast-forward to now, as I get ready to compete at the collegiate level, I’m carrying that same “enjoy the journey” mindset with me. Looking back, I’ve met so many amazing people who pushed me, supported me, and helped shape who I am today. Because of them, I’ve learned to slow down, take it all in, and appreciate every step of the way. I’d also like to thank my teammates for constantly pushing me, having fun with me, and making even the toughest workouts worth it because we’re in it together. And lastly, to my mom; who can’t always attend my meets but supports me every single day, I am endlessly grateful for you."

Poliferno takes the reins of Bulldog Softball program

The CHS Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the naming of Heather Poliferno as our next Head Varsity Softball Coach.

Poliferno has been the head coach of the Sharon Eagles Softball program for the past eight seasons. Her softball journey can be tracked back to her youth where she was a standout high school player in western Massachusetts where she grew up.  She then went on to become a member of the Westfield State University softball program before an injury derailed her college playing career. She went on to coach 12u, 14u and 16u softball teams at Brand New Ballgame (BNB) in Wrentham.

Coach Poliferno with her family

When she is not coaching, she enjoys playing with her children, Cameron (5) and Henry (7 months), and reading a good book.

CHS Athletic Director, Danny Erickson had this to say of Poliferno taking the reins-

"Heather immediately made a positive impression on everyone here at CHS during the hiring process. Her passion for both softball and student athletes shined through. We are very excited to see the difference she can make here in the CHS Softball program. We welcome her and wish her great success!"

Poliferno is ready to hit the ground running. She will be hosting a "meet the coach" meeting for any potential member of the softball program this spring, on Thursday, November 20th at 2:30pm in the Distance Learning Lab at CHS

Coach Poliferno had this to say upon her appointment- "I am very excited for the opportunity to lead the Canton High Softball program, and am grateful to be a member of the Bulldogs family! I can't wait to meet everyone!"
