All CHS In-Person Athletic Activities canceled Monday, February 1st

Due to the expected snow storm and the early dismissal of the Canton Public Schools tomorrow, ALL after school Athletic practices, contests and in-person meetings are canceled.  Remote team actives are permitted.

"Fall 2" Season update- 1-29-2021

Today, the MIAA Board of Directors approved modifications for "Fall 2" season sports. For CHS those include Indoor Track, Cheer, Volleyball and Football. 

Those modifications will be made available on the MIAA Covid Taskforce page soon. 

We are so excited that these seasons will be happening!

However, it is important to note the the MIAA BOD-approved modifications are an important first step to getting that season underway.  Next up will be any further modifications or clarifications that the Hockomock League will implement.  Finally- the CHS Athletic Department will have further protocols clarifications.  

Please be patient as this process continues over the coming weeks. 

In the meantime- we will be opening up Fall 2 registration within the next week. Keep your eyes out!

Updated Changes to CHS Athletic Calendar (with streaming info) 1-27-2021

The following updates have been made to the CHS Athletics schedule in the coming days:

Wednesday, January 27th-  Varsity Boys Hockey will face Stoughton at Asiaf in Brockton at 7:00pm. This is Stoughton's home game. No Canton fans permitted. Game will be streamed at our CHS Athletics Youtube channel IF the wifi is good at the rink!  CHS Athletics YouTube Channel 

Wednesday, January 27th-  Canton will host Attleboro in JV and Varsity Basketball.  JV game at 3:45pm. Varsity game at 5:30pm.  Both games streamed at CHS Athletics YouTube Channel. Varsity game also available for full coverage and livestream at www.cantoncommunitytv.org

All Girls JV and Varsity Hockey games originally scheduled for this week have been postponed. 

All Freshmen Boys Basketball games originally scheduled this week have been postponed. 

Thursday's JV Boys Hockey game against OA has been postponed.

Saturday's JV Girls Hockey game postponed

The Girls JV Ice Hockey game scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd at Hingham vs. NDA has been postponed. 

Today's Freshmen Boys Basketball game canceled

Today's 9th grade Boys Basketball game scheduled with Oliver Ames has been canceled. 

The JV and Varsity games are on as scheduled.

 There are extensive changes to our master schedule of contests over. Below summarizes those chances as of today!

Boys Basketball-

All Boys Basketball games with NA scheduled for today, January 21st have been postponed to Friday, February 12.

All three levels (Fr., JV and Varsity) have a home game vs. Oliver Ames on Friday, January 22nd. No other games from Thursday, January 21st thru Monday, January 25th. 

Girls Basketball-

All three levels (Fr., JV and Varsity) games with NA scheduled for Thursday, January 21st have been POSTPONED to Friday, February 12th. 

Freshmen at Mansfield on Saturday, January 23rd at 2:00pm

Varsity at Mansfield on Saturday, January 23rd at 3:30pm

Girls Ice Hockey-

JV game scheduled with Mans/OA/Fox for TODAY, January 21st, has been postponed. 

The following Varsity games have been postponed-

• Friday vs. KP
• Monday vs. Mansfield
• Wednesday vs. Mansfield

Boys Ice Hockey-

New game added on Monday, January 25th vs. Attleboro at Ponky at 4:00pm 

New place/time for game with Oliver Ames on Wednesday, January 27th-----4:00pm at Ponky. Please note this is and AWAY game. Oliver Ames is the host and no Canton fans will be admitted.

Girls Varsity Hockey team game schedule update

The Girls Varsity Hockey game scheduled for Wednesday, January 20th vs. King Philip has been postponed to Friday, January 22nd at Metropolis Rink (Ponky) in Canton at 5:30pm. 

The road game originally scheduled for this past Monday vs. KP will be rescheduled to a date later in the season. 

Varsity Boys Basketball game postponed

Tonight's Boys Varsity Basketball game scheduled between the Bulldogs and the North Attleboro Red Rocketeers has been POSTPONED.  Check this blog for rescheduling information. 

JV and Freshmen games are on as scheduled.

Bulldogs doubling our efforts

As we approach the half-way point in our winter season, the CHS Athletic Department would like to remind our Bulldogs that our own behavior will go a long way towards keeping us in action. 

We are asking that all of our student athletes do their part to keep Canton healthy and keep our teams competing.  

Below is a reminder of our expectations of our student athletes and staff during this time:

Daily Screener- Every student athlete is expected to fill out our daily health screener each day. Student athletes who arrive at a practice or game this week without having filled out the screener may be sent home and not permitted to participate. WE NEED TO DO THIS. Screener is found here.

Social Distancing and Mask Wearing- We realize that "Covid-fatigue" is real and is setting in for all of us. However- we must be better with social distancing and mask-wearing now than we have in the past. Be responsible for your own actions. It's on each of us to monitor how close we stand to each other at our practices/games, etc. and how well we do with our mask-wearing. 

Feeling any symptoms- STAY HOME!!!!!

In closing- it's hard to keep seasons going during a pandemic that is currently at its height.  We need everyone in this together.

Important Information as Winter Contests Begin

This week we kick off our winter season contests. Lots of important info below for Bulldog student athletes, families and fans. 

This week's upcoming action is listed below. 

Important information concerning spectator protocols-

• NO Spectators permitted at Swim and Gymnastics meets. 
• Only HOME fans are permitted at Basketball and Hockey games. Those fans are limited to immediate family members who live in homes with the student athlete. 
• Canton fans will NOT be admitted to contests at away venues. 

Important details for eligible spectators of hockey/basketball-

• No spectators will be admitted to the rink or the CHS building prior to 15 minutes before game time. 
• All spectators must fill out our CHS Athletics Self-Screener PRIOR to attending. This must be done on the day of each game you attend. It can be found by clicking here. 
• All spectators must sign in at our Covid-19 check-in table as you enter. 
• Spectators must vacate the venue as soon as the game is over.

Streaming info- In an effort to provide an opportunity for as many family members of our student athletes to watch our contests, we are providing as many games as possible in a live stream.   Please be patient with us as we attempt to get this done.
