Anyone interested in trying out for a spring athletic program MUST have a parent register you prior to doing so. The easiest way to register is to visit the CHS Athletics website and complete the online registration available there. The first day of tryouts/practices is March 20th.
Registration deadline to be eligible for the first day of tryouts/practices is Wednesday, March 15th at Noon.
The following sports programs are offered at CHS in the spring:
Boys- Baseball (Varsity, JV, Freshmen), Lacrosse (Varsity and JV), Tennis (Varsity), Track and Field (Varsity)
Girls- Lacrosse (Varsity and JV), Softball (Varsity, JV, Freshmen), Tennis (Varsity), Track and Field (Varsity)

MIAA Hockey Tournament Time!
Canton is ready for some tournament hockey! Both our boys and girls teams begin their MIAA tournament journeys this Wednesday at the Canton Ice House.
The Girls team is seeded #14 in the D2 State Tournament and will host #19 Norwell in the Blue Rink at the Canton Ice House on Wednesday, March 1st at 7:15pm (note time change). Admission cost will be $7 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens. (No booster passes accepted.) However, if you attend the Boys Game in the Ice House, simply keep your MIAA ticket stub and present it to enter the girls game free of charge.

Captains Workshop to Make a Difference moved to 3/2
The CHS Athletics Department will be hosing an important workshop for varsity captains on Thursday, March 2nd from 2:30-4:00pm in the DLL (note the new site). This is rescheduled from earlier in February.
This workshop is MANDATORY for all 2017 spring captains as well as any already named Fall & Winter 2017-18 captains. Fall and Winter 2016-17 captains need not attend.
The workshop will be focused on the CHS captain's role in the continuous fostering of a positive school climate. Winter athletes who have a conflict with a practice should work it out with their coaches to be able to attend.

Busy Day!
Lot's of Bulldog action today!
Boys and Girls Track are currently competing in the Hockomock Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center- Saturday morning.
Wrestling is competing in the Sectionals at Ashland High School all day today- Saturday.
Gymnastics team is heading to Shrewsbury High School to compete in the Hockomock Championship meet this afternoon at 12:30pm.
Girls Swimmers are competing in the Sectionals at MIT in Cambridge at 4:15pm. Boys Swimmers are in action the same time and place tomorrow.
Girls Hockey looks to keep its hot streak alive when they travel to Hingham to face the highly touted Harbormen tonight at 8:00pm.
Boys Hockey will face Pembroke at the Canton Ice House at 7:30pm tonight. We will be celebrating the Seniors as it is Senior Night.

Boys Swim team making history
Friday saw the Boys Swim Team follow up its first-ever regular season Davenport Championship with its best-ever finish in the Hockomock League Championship Meet- finishing 2nd.
It's been an amazing season under the direction of head coach Cheryl Cavanaugh. The team went undefeated in their 8 meets against Hockomock opponents, including five wins over Davenport foes on their way to their first Hockomock Davenport Championship.
Only King Phillip could muster more points in Friday night's Hockomock Championship meet as the Bulldogs outscored the other 10 schools in the league, including all of the Davenport schools. Final point totals were-
1st- King Philip- 279
2nd- Canton- 256
3rd- Milford- 251

Girls Tennis Meeting- 2-8-16
Any Girls interested in trying out for the Tennis Team are encouraged to attend a meeting on Wednesday, February 8th in room 144 at 2:30pm. Anyone unable to make the meeting should stop by and speak with Mr. Chamberlain before or after school.
