Fall Sports Meetings

There will be several student athlete meetings taking place during the remainder of the school year for fall sports teams. These meetings are important to attend as they provide critical information about the fall season.

Upcoming Meetings:


Field Hockey- Friday, May 30th at the CHS turf field at 2:30pm.

Boys Soccer- Tuesday, June 3rd at 2:30 in Coach Erickson's classroom- room 147.

Girls Soccer- Tuesday, June 3rd at 2:30 in Ms. Handman's room- room 246.

10th-12th Grade Football- Wednesday, June 4th in at 2:00pm in coach Bohane's classroom.

Golf- Wednesday, June 4th at 2:00pm in the CHS Distance Learning Lab.

Volleyball- Thursday, June 5th at 2:00pm in the CHS Distance Learning Lab.

Freshmen Football- Monday, June 2nd at CHS gym at 7:00.

Senior Banquet

The class of 2014 will celebrate a final dinner together on June 5th at 5:30pm in the CHS Cafe. Following the dinner will be a presentation in the auditorium which will feature the formal awarding of Varsity Letters to members of the class who have earned them over their years here.

Parents are invited to this awards presentation which will begin at approximately 6:45.

Following the athletic awards, the class will sit for the first-ever viewing of the Senior Slideshow.

Class of 2014 Boys LAX teammates celebrating after a 7-6 season finale victory over Medway last week.  Plan on attending the Senior Banquet to help honor these student athletes and their classmates.

Tournament Action Ahead

Three teams will be representing CHS in State Tournament competition this spring season, as well as many track and field individuals.

Girls Lacrosse- Seeded #10 will play at #7 seeded Norwood on Tuesday, May 27th at 3:30.
Norwood High School- 245 Nichols Street

Girls Tennis- Seeded #18 will play at #15 seeded Duxbury on Friday, May 30th at 4:00.
Duxbury High School- 130 St. George St.

Softball- Seeded #23 will play at #10 Abington on Saturday, May 31st at Noon.

Scholar Athletes Honored

On the evening of Tuesday, May 13th, the Hockomock League gathered to recognize the achievements of 24 of the league's finest young student athletes at the annual Scholar Athlete Banquet.  The Scholar Athlete Banquet honors a graduating male and female student from each of the league's 12 schools for academic and athletic excellence. Students are selected based on superior academic achievement and exceptional athletic performance.

This year's Canton High School honorees were Rachel Campagna and Chris Sullivan. Both Rachel and Chris are among the highest achieving students in the graduating class of 2014. Beyond the classroom, Chris is the most decorated Wrestler in the history of the program while Rachel has excelled in both soccer and track.  They are both incredibly worthy of this outstanding honor.

Scheduling Adjustments

The following changes have been made to this week's schedule:

1. Boys Tennis, Girls Tennis and JV Baseball vs. OA from last Friday will be played on Tuesday, May 13th.

2. Varsity Baseball vs. Dedham scheduled for this upcoming Friday will be pushed up to Thursday.

3. Boys LAX games with Milford on Wednesday- JV has been canceled and the start time for Varsity is now 6:30pm.

Boys LAX game time change on 5/12

Boys LAX games will be delayed one hour on Monday, May 12th at OA due to AP exams.

New times:

Varsity at 4:30
JV at 6:00

Girls LAX games times switched for Monday, May 5

Monday's Girls LAX games will swap start times on Monday at Franklin:

JV will play first at 3:30 and Varsity will follow at 5:00.

Games will be played at Franklin High/Middle School.
