Connolly signs NLI- headed to Lafayette

Sarah Connolly
The Canton High School Athletic Department is happy to announce that this morning, in a brief ceremony, Sarah Connolly (class of '18) signed her National Letter of Intent to play soccer for Lafayette College- NCAA D1.  The signing took place at the main office at CHS with her family present as well as CHS principal- Derek Folan, and CHS athletic director- Danny Erickson.

Connolly has been a captain of the CHS Bulldog Girls Soccer program for the past two seasons and has been a major contributor to the program's successes over the past 4-years. She has been a stalwart in the back for the team since her freshmen year. She earned All-Hockomock League honors this past fall as well as being selected as a Canton Citizen All-Star and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic.

The Connolly Family
Kate Howarth- CHS Girls Varsity Soccer head coach and former NCAA D1 soccer player in her own right (University of Miami- class of 2012)- had this to say about her star player on this exciting day:

"Sarah is, hands down, one of the most well rounded players that I've ever coached. She is a leader and competitor, on and off the field.  She has been a huge asset to us over her time here and there is no doubt that she will become a huge asset at Lafayette College in the years to come. We will miss her greatly and wish her the best!"

Connolly heads to Lafayette to join the Leopards for their 2018 fall season.  Lafayette competes in the prestigious Patriot League.
