The Canton High School Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jesse Mitchell as our Girls Varsity Basketball coach. Coach Jesse Mitchell during in time at Newfound Regional
Coach Mitchell arrives at Canton High with an impressive coaching resume. His experiences include stops at Newfound Regional High School in Bristol, New Hampshire where he coached the Boys Varsity Basketball team as well as the Boys Varsity Soccer team. H won the 2022 Coach of the year honor for the entire state of New Hampshire.
After moving to Weymouth, MA, he wasted in time in expanding his coaching career. Last year he served as the Head Freshmen Boys Basketball coach at Archbishop Williams. He also served as assistant Boys Soccer coach for the Bishops. Last winter also saw him coach the top 8th grade girls team for the Behn Hurricanes.
His "day job" is Regional Director of New England for a national youth programing camp company called State and Kate's Camp, where he serves in the roles as camp director, special education teacher and coach.
Coach Mitchell had this to say upon his appointment-
"I am super excited to bring some enthusiasm and energy to the team and the program for years to come. Basketball is a huge passion of mine and being a mentor to youth in the community is just as important. Can't wait to learn more about Canton and it's community. So ready to get back on the court and bring even more success to the Girls Program!"
